The Procion Dyes (This piece was dyed, in part, using the only dye that is both UV Reactive and Fiber Reactive. Remazol Luminous Yellow FL AKA Psychedelic Sunshine. A Vinyl Sulfone reactive dye. Great effects in blacklight!) were applied to the tied-up tapestry and then a strong soda ash solution was applied after the dye was applied. *This is part of my experiment to find the best fabric for tapestries after way too much frustration with the pre-made cotton tapestries currently available. This is, by far, my favorite fabric that I have used! It took the dye wonderfully! Fabric was purchased from Dharma Trading Company.
This piece of tie dye artwork comes with a certificate of authenticity, printed on quality parchment paper for certificates, by default from Dave's Dyes. From now on (starting 5/11/25), any newly created item priced at $150 or greater, will include a certificate of authenticity which will have information about the work, a photograph (at least one) of the piece and will have a unique identifier that will be written somewhere on the art with archival quality ink and will match the identifier on the certificate. Both will also include the artist's signature. Certificates of Authenticity are also available for work done prior and for items marked at lower than $150, upon request.
