Medium Wave Variation* Tie Dye on a Bella + Canvas 3512 Unisex Jersey Long-Sleeve Hoodie** that was dyed using the "Pariah Method": The item was not presoaked in Soda Ash solution. The Procion Dyes were applied to the tied-up shirt and then a strong soda ash solution was applied after the dye was applied. It was then "batched" as normal for 48 hours before washout. This one has a glow in the dark HTV Dave's Dyes ambigram logo ironed on to the front of the hood section. Feel free to ask me any questions you may have. Wash with like colors in cold water for first few washes.
*As I was tying up this batch I was seeing a lot of "The Wave" design being posted. I decided I would to try to take a guess at how it was done. Literally the day after I finished tying this batch, a tutorial for The Wave got posted. So I was pretty close. The only things I did different was that I didn't do the flip and roll from the other side. I just did one continuous roll from the shoulder. That's probably why the dye is a little on the shoulder area (see pics for saturation issues). It took a lot to get that dye through all those layers of fabric. Multiple coats and squeezing that dye in there. I also tied it a little different. Instead of single, spaced angle ties, I tied it mandala/honeycomb style. Not too bad for an educated guess. I tied up 5 this way in this batch. I dropped and sold the first one earlier Look for the other 3 to be dropped throughout the week. I'll try my hand at the other way next batch.
** Note, this isn't a standard heavy hooded sweatshirt. It's a lightweight long sleeve shirt w/ a hood. There are no drawstrings or pockets.
